Triumph TR3-TR4A & Morgan +4: New ‘High Port’ cylinder heads in an improved design

Many owners of these vehicles are familiar with the problem: due to their advanced age, numerous original cylinder heads are now showing signs of cracking or can only be repaired at considerable expense. At the same time, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find good replacements. New cylinder heads have recently been available only sporadically and have reached price levels that were hardly affordable for many vehicle owners.

For this reason, we have decided to have a new and improved version manufactured, which addresses the known weaknesses whilst retaining the character of the original.

The cylinder head is designed for use with unleaded petrol and is supplied fully assembled. Valves, valve springs and all relevant components are already fitted, meaning the head is ready for immediate use. Furthermore, the intake and exhaust ports have been subtly optimised to allow for improved gas flow. Visually, the new cylinder head is modelled as closely as possible on the historic original and thus blends perfectly into a period-accurate engine bay.

With this new development, we are making an important contribution to ensuring that these vehicles can continue to be operated reliably, economically and with manageable maintenance requirements for decades to come. Naturally, we also offer our reconditioned replacement and complete engines fitted with the new ‘High Port’ cylinder heads on request.
