BASTUCK presents ADAC ProCar Series

Rainer Bastuck successfully participated in the ADAC ProCar series as a driver, and he has been a sponsor of the series for a long time. This season Bastuck has become the presenting partner of the complete racing series.

Motor racing is one of Rainer Bastuck’s greatest passions. For many years he has been actively participating as a driver. It was always normal for him to also support several racing series as a sponsor. For a long period he has been working closely with the organizers of the ADAC ProCar series. And although Rainer Bastuck will not be listed as a driver this season he still remains faithful to the series: In 2008 BASTUCK will be the presenting partner for the first time. And the outlook could hardly be more positive. “The series has constantly developed during the past years, and we expect a large starting grid this year”, Rainer Bastuck explained. On top of the regular participants there will be new teams and drivers participating in all three divisions (division 1: cars in group DMSB-Super2000 up to 2000cc displacement; division 2: cars in group DMSB-1600 up to 1600cc; division 3: cars in group DMSB-Diesel 2000 up to 2000cc), providing an international flair and car brand diversity.

Growing Popularity of the Series

The base of the ADAC ProCar series is given by race cars built closely to production cars. Technically they are closely controlled in order to guarantee equal opportunity. The performance figures of the cars participating in all three divisions are almost identical – after all it should be the driver skills that are the decisive factor in the ADAC ProCar. In addition, handicap weights are given to the best finishers of every division after each race.

Tough Racing Weekends

In all eight racing weekends the drivers all have to give their very best. Before participating in the races (two 20 minute events with 15 minute repair time in between), they have to take part in two free practice sessions, a 30 minute qualifying session and a warm-up. Rainer Bastuck only knows too well that a good physical condition is a decisive factor for success: “Sometimes the days are quite tough, and if you are not able to concentrate at the right time, you are certainly handicapped. The races are not very long – there is no time for error if you want to be one of the front runners.”
